Your role at a glance

Our market leading actuarial and pricing team are looking for a Pricing Manager. You will be pricing the products, involved in reprices, development and reinsurance with the help of the rest of the team. We would really like to hear from candidates who are technical actuaries from non-pricing background or strong data scientists from non-life insurance background who can bring new perspectives from different industries.The role can be Hove or London based with remote working two days per week (when work resumes to normal)

What you'll be doing:

In this role, you will assist the Pricing Actuary. The responsibilities of this role are wide ranging and you will be exposed to all areas of pricing, modelling and analytical work:

This includes:

  • You'll develop and price new and existing products, by providing pricing expertise and any additional actuarial support as required.
  • You'll help maintain the existing suite of products and assist in the delivery of new projects.
  • You'll monitor and analyse market rates and identify strategies and tactics to improve market share and new business profitability.
  • You'll maintain appropriate documentation supporting the pricing procedures, analyses, decisions, processes and controls.
  • You'll support the Pricing Actuary to determine optimal reinsurance arrangements for the protection products.


What we're looking for

Qualification:

  • Actuarial Exams (but not essential if relevant experience)
  • Experience and background
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ of relevant experience.
  • Ideally someone with life insurance background such as pricing and reporting (pricing experience is not necessary but would be useful).
  • Experience in using Prophet (preferred but not essential).
  • Must be flexible and enjoy working on a wide range of tasks.
  • Strong Excel skills – ability to produce technical calculations using Excel with clear audit trail.
  • A good understanding of Protection products and new business reporting metrics.
  • Broad all round knowledge and awareness of relevant regulation and seek advice when necessary.

  • Good IT skills: Prophet, Excel, VBA, R.
  • Highly driven and self-sufficient with storng task ownership skills.
  • Must be flexible and ability to multi-task effectively to meet strong demand.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and good time management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Team player, with demonstrable experience of helping a team to succeed in its goals.
  • Put forward ideas and identify and act upon opportunities to enhance the performance of the team.
  • Demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability.
